Full Body Character Swap – More Than Face Swap, Like Recasting

Replace the entire character appearance while preserving the original video's motion rhythm, expression details, and camera quality.

Full-Body and Identity-Level Video Replacement

Unlike common face swaps, character replacement replaces the entire person (face, clothing, and overall body style) while preserving the original video's performance and rhythm. The new character follows the same movements, body language, and facial expressions, resulting in smoother footage without the 'floating' or mismatched feeling.

Replace a Character Without Rebuilding the Scene

Good character replacement should look like it was filmed in the original scene. The system maintains the background and camera unchanged, and by matching scene lighting and overall color tone, helps the replaced character blend better into the frame, reducing obvious 'pasted/cutout' artifacts.

AI Character Swap replaces the person in a video with a new character from a single photo—often including face + clothing + overall body appearance, not just the face. It's designed to keep the original scene and performance while changing who's on screen.

Upload one character image and one reference video. The system then replaces the original person while preserving key details like motion, facial expressions, and scene lighting, so the new character looks like they belonged in the shot. A face swap mainly changes the face region. Character swap replaces the entire character (face, outfit, and full-body look) while copying the original performance—"mastering" the video rather than pasting a new face.

You need: - A clear character photo (good lighting, only 1 person) and - A reference video (the clip whose motion/expressions you want to keep). On VideoSwap Character Swap, the reference video limit is max 50MB.

For the most natural results, use videos with a single main subject, clear lighting, and not-too-chaotic motion. Extremely fast movement, heavy motion blur, or multiple people in frame can make the replacement less stable.

Use a character image that's well-lit and sharp, and pick a reference video where the subject is visible and consistent. Matching body proportions between the character photo and the reference person (height/build) typically reduces distortion.

Yes—character replace models are commonly used for swapping in illustrated characters, mascots, or stylized people while keeping the original performance. Results are best when the character image is clear and the pose/proportions roughly match the reference subject.

Generation time depends on video length, resolution, and how complex the scene motion is. The underlying approach is designed to keep the original motion/expressions and relight the inserted character to match the scene—those steps can take longer on harder clips.

Try these quick fixes: - Use a sharper, front-facing character image with even lighting (avoid filters/heavy shadows). - Use a reference clip with one clear subject (avoid crowd shots). - Shorten to the cleanest segment (stable camera, fewer occlusions like hands covering face).
